WEEK 1

STARTING POSITION: The Guard

1. The Active Guard

a)      Head off the mat

b)      Hand in cross collar and hand on sleeve

c)      Two hand on Sleeve (Drill Passing hands off right and left)

d)      Baseball bat grip

e)      Cross Collar Choke (GI)

2.      Arm lock

a)      Basic from the guard (Hand in X Collar GI / Elbow and Wrist Grip No GI)

b)      Basic from hand on bicep’s

 

WEEK 2

STARTING POSITION: The Guard

  • Triangle Choke
  1. Basic attack from Arm Bar escape (Arm Pulled Out)
  2. Basic from Attack initiation (Two leg Set Up)
  3. Omoplata (Arm Wrap Defense from Triangle Choke)

 

WEEK 3

STARTING POSITION: The Guard

  • Attacks From The guard
  1. Kimura Shoulder Lock
  2. Corner Sweep
  3. Post, Up and Over Sweep
  4. Guillotine

WEEK 4

STARTING POSITION: The Guard

  • Sweeps from the Guard
  1. Scissor Sweep
  2. Push Sweep
  3. Pendulum Sweep
  4. Arm-lock From Pendulum Sweep

 

WEEK 5

STARTING POSITION: From Inside the Guard

  • Passing the Guard
  1. Helio Pass
  2. Knee over Pass
  3. Inside Knee Pass

 

WEEK 6

STARTING POSITION: From Inside the Guard

  • Standing Guard Passes
  1. Smash Pass
  2. Standing Pass
  3. Standing Knee over pass
  4. Defending the Stack
  5. Achieves Foot Lock

 

Week 7

STARTING POSITION: Side Control

  • Cross Body Position and Mount From Cross Body

1.          Cross Body

a)         Elbow on ear, Hand under Hip and Chest on chest.

b)         If turns into you shift hip push back with arm under neck then reposition.

2.          Bottom Position

a)         Leg up foot on knee, Under hook and Arm across hip.

3.      Knee Across and over Mount

4.      Foot Grab Across Mount

5.      Knee pull down leg hook Mount

 

WEEK 8

STARTING POSITION: Side Control  / Ciem Kilos

•     Cross Body Attacks

  1. Kimura (Same Side, Opposite Side)
  2. Arm Lock
  3. Americana
  4. Neck Crank
  5. Taking the Back (From Neck crank position Mata Leao)

 

WEEK 9

STARTING POSITION: In Side Control

  • Cross Body Escape
  1. Push and Pull Sweep
  2. Turn to Knees
  3. Turn to knees to leg grab Takedown
  4. Destroying the Base

 

WEEK 10

STARTING POSITION: The Mount

  • Maintain the Mount
  1. Superman
  2. Swim Through
  3. Hook and Base
  4. Scoop Wrist from Leg push

 

  • Attacks from The Mount
  1. Arm Lock
  2. Push Over Arm Lock
  3. Americana from Mount

 

WEEK 11

STARTING POSITION:  The Mount

  • Attacks from The Mount
  1. Technical Mount
  2. Gift Wrap to “Nut cracker choke”
  3. Shoulder lock w/ transition to Arm lock

 

WEEK 12

STARTING POSITION:  Being Mounted

  • Escaping The Mount
  1. Bridge and Roll (From Choke From Guard)
  2. Trap and Roll (Arm Under Neck or Umpa)
  3. Elbow Escape

a)      Side Leg Scoop

b)      Grape Vine Escape

c)      Legs Locked Under Butt

 

WEEK 13

Position Back Mount

  • Taking the Back
  1. Take back from under-hook sweep from guard
  2. Take Back from Opponent trying to sit up to Mata Leão
  3. Take back From Turtle to Mata Leão (Cross Wrist Grab and Knee in opposite hip)

 

WEEK 14

STARTING POSITION: The Back Mount

  • Back Attacks
  1. Arm Bar (When Opponent is Pulling your hands down defending Mata Leão)
  2. Triangle Choke (Use when Opponent tries to slide out)
  3. Don’t Lock your Legs

 

WEEK 15

STARTING POSITION:  Back Mounted

  • Back Escapes
  1. Push Back Escape  (If being choked turn towards arm)
  2. Back Escape to Corner
  3. Face Down Escape (To half guard then full guard)

 

WEEK 16

STARTING POSITION:  Turtle

  • Escape from Turtle
  1. Roll under to Guard
  2. Back Attack Defense from Turtle (Leg Out)
  3. Sit out Escape from Top North South (Take his back and set Mata Leão)
