Men & Women Jiu-Jitsu

Jiu-Jitsu, which literally means the “art of softness,” is a method of fighting that utilizes various forms of grappling techniques. This includes throwing, sweeping, and flipping as well as joint locks, chokes, and other submission holds. Jiu-Jitsu teaches students to use an attacker’s energy against him/her rather than directly opposing it. The Hidden Valley Mixed Martial Arts Adult Jiu-Jitsu Program is designed to introduce students to the basics of standing, self-defense and ground grappling of Behring Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and to provide a solid foundation of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu’s sport and self-defense aspects. We teach the Behring Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Progressive system which is unique to our school and is the best system to learn under. A typical class includes a thorough warm-up followed by technical instruction and live rolling intended to hone in on very specific fundamental positions and strategies. Hidden Valley Mixed Martial Arts Jiu-Jitsu Program explores a broader range of techniques and positions while still enforcing at its core basics of Behring Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, in addition to teaching the basics we teach more complex grappling, throwing, clinching and submission techniques. Whether you are a beginner or experienced grappler, in your teens or an adult, our Behring Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes are great for self-defense and sport for both recreational purposes and a serious competitive edge.
